This July 11 news report shares some disturbing information that contradicts the claims made by officials that this is an isolated incident. So now there are multiple theories to be had in the heartbreaking murder of the little girl. On one hand, the parents are under intense scrutiny in the eyes of the public, but on the other hand there could be a serial predator targeting young girls in the Fort Worth area.
Andy Acuna is a father from Forth Worth -- not very far from the suburban area of Saginaw where Alanna's family resides. He claims that about a month ago a red truck matching the description shared in the media regarding this case approached his own daughters. He claims that the driver of the red truck tried to lure his daughters away, but he scared the driver away. He also managed to get a license plate number -- which will lead investigators directly to the owner of the vehicle for questioning.
While this seems like "good news" for the parents of Alanna Gallagher, it might also be a wild goose chase for someone that either doesn't exist, or someone who is completely not involved with Alanna's death. In high profile cases like these there are always reports coming from the public trying to connect random occurrences. While it's almost therapeutic to believe that every child abduction and death is a result of stranger danger and serial predators, the statistical fact of the matter is that a very small number of children are victimized in this manner. Nonetheless, a small number doesn't mean "none at all," and it's very likely that someone is in the Fort Worth area preying on young girls (or at least trying to). It's an important lead to check out, but if it was credible, don't you think there would be some kind of major update regrading the driver of this particular truck?
On the other hand, there is a lot of evidence being publicized that kind of points directly at her guardians -- which are a polyandrous trio comprising of the girl's mother, her father and the mother's husband. Officials are reportedly planning a forensic analysis of the items taken from the Gallagher/McDaniel home -- items that include possible blood, arm and leg restraints and other items. A search warrant directly implicates the parents by stating that some of their electronics "may contain evidence of a criminal offense."
