Spice Girl Mel B. and Stephen Belafonte, Oh the life of a celebrity. Even if you're in no way an actress (well, apart from Spice Girls: The Movie and that gritty film where she worked in a fish shop), you get to swan over to Cannes, party in designer gear, then spend the day recovering in a bikini on a yacht. Like Mel B is doing currently.We have literally done none of these things. Not even the designer gear. We can't afford the pound-per-wear. It's so unfair.
Anyway, we've got the next best thing, which is looking at pictures of Mel B doing exactly this. And after spending the night rubbing shoulders with film-y types (we suppose Mel's husband Stephen Belafonte is a sort of film producer person, so kind of justified) and sparking vow-renewal rumours with their wedding-y outfits, the Spice Girl and Steve clambered on a yacht with some friends and stripped down.
Mel opted for a blue and white swirly-patterned bikini that showed over her toned body, which she accessorised with a watch, gold bangle and at various points, a cigarette. Her husband opted for matching blue shorts, and a similar bangle/watch combo. they're so co-ordinated! In fact, their two mates were in blue and white too. Maybe it was a blue and white party? Or they just wanted to look extra nautical.
We were also pleased to see them proudly flying the Union Jack, in some kind of flag-based hark back to her Spice Girls days. Unfortunately it didn't inspire her to perform an impromptu performance of 'Who Do You Think You Are' or better still some kind of Spice Girls medley, but she did pull a few classic 'hands in the air' moves, so that's something.
The Spice Girl is having some downtime in Cannes ahead of her stint as a judge on America's Got Talent, replacing Sharon Osborne who is coming back to UK X Factor. That's after Mel controversially quit Australian X Factor to do the US show, just after being banned from Australia's Got Talent who also wanted her as a judge on their show. Confusing much? Mel has carved out a reality show niche in the States after a successful appearance on Dancing With the Stars, as well as her own show Mel B: It's A Scary World, and we guess from all the demand she must be pretty good at all this judging business.
As well as making the most of the glorious sunshine, Mel took the opportunity to knock back some champagne, have a laugh with her mates, and generally show off her amazing body. Which is totally what we'd do if we were out on a luxury yacht in Cannes. You know, if anyone ever asked us *sniff.
