Jane Lynch files for divorce, Jane Lynch and Lara Embry have started the process of divorce three years after the women wed.The 52-year-old Glee actress and her spouse, 44-year-old clinical psychologist Dr. Lara Embry, announced their split earlier this year.
According to TMZ, Jane has now made the break official.
The website reports Jane cited "irreconcilable differences" in Los Angeles County Court filings.
The documents state the pair have been apart since February.
Jane reportedly plans to dispute any possible claims for spousal support.
Sources told the outlet the women do not have a pre-nuptial agreement.
Jane and Lara began dating in 2009 and wed the following year in the state of Massachusetts, where homosexual marriage is recognised.
They later registered for a domestic partnership in California.
Jane spoke openly about ending their relationship in a statement to People magazine in June.
"Lara and I have decided to end our marriage," the actress said.
"This has been a difficult decision for us as we care very deeply about one another. We ask for privacy as we deal with this family matter."
She had noted their personality differences in the past.
"Lara's very patient," Jane told the New York Times. "I move fast. I'm very impulsive, and we kind of process things at a different pace. So we've both had to step up in that area. I've had to slow down, and she had to get a move on."
